How it works
From sign-up to live site.
Six steps, most of which happen on our side. You do not need to understand cloud hosting to get through them.
-
Choose hosting
One plan at $99 a year. If you are not certain your website qualifies, ask for a free assessment before you pay.
-
Pay securely
Checkout and card details are handled by Stripe. Your annual hosting term starts once payment goes through.
-
Tell us about your website
After payment you complete a short onboarding form: your domain, who hosts the site today, whether it is WordPress, whether the domain is used for email, and whether you would like us to handle the domain connection for you.
-
We review and prepare
We check your site over, prepare the hosting, and confirm what is needed. If we find something that will not carry over as it stands — a contact form or another interactive feature — we tell you before anything changes.
-
Connect the domain
Either we send you clear instructions for your registrar, or you authorize us to make the changes. Before touching DNS we identify existing records for email and other services so they are carried across rather than lost.
-
Go live
Your domain points to the hosted site and HTTPS is issued. From there we handle routine hosting administration, and you know who to email.
What we ask you for
The onboarding form is short on purpose. We need enough to connect your site without breaking anything else your domain is doing.
- Your domain name
- Who currently hosts the website, if you know
- Whether the existing site is built on WordPress
- Whether your domain is also used for email
- Whether you would like guided instructions or want us to connect the domain
- How to reach you
Your email keeps working. Website hosting, domain registration, and email hosting are three separate things. Moving your website to us does not move your email. We ask about email up front specifically so that a website change does not interrupt it.
After you are live
We handle the hosting: certificates, routine administration, and hosting support. You keep your domain in your own name at your own registrar, and you keep the right to take your website elsewhere.
Publishing changes depends on how your site is built. If you or your developer manage a static site, you continue to publish updates the same way you do now. If you would like someone to make changes for you, that is website maintenance rather than hosting — see what hosting support covers.
Ready to move your website?
Managed static hosting is $99 per year, billed annually. If you are not sure whether your current website is a fit, ask us for a free static migration assessment first.
