Why an assessment first
Plenty of small-business WordPress sites are informational: services, locations, an about page, some photos, a contact form. Sites like that are frequently good candidates for conversion to a static website.
Plenty of others are not. A site with a store, a login area, or a booking system depends on software that keeps running, and converting it would mean losing the thing that makes it work. There is no way to know which kind you have without looking.
So we look first, at no cost, and tell you honestly. We would rather turn a site away than convert one that should not be converted.
What we check
- Whether the site is primarily informational or depends on a live WordPress runtime
- Contact forms and where their submissions currently go
- Interactive features — booking, search, calculators, member areas, e-commerce
- Plugins that provide visitor-facing functionality rather than editing convenience
- How much content there is and how often it changes
- Whether your domain also handles email or other services that must not be disturbed
- Roughly how much work a conversion would involve
The three possible answers
Straightforward
The site converts cleanly. We tell you what the conversion involves and what it costs, and hosting is $99 a year from there.
Possible, with work
Conversion is realistic but parts of the site need rebuilding or replacing. We explain what those parts are and quote that work separately, before starting.
Not a good idea
Your site genuinely needs what WordPress is doing. We say so and you stay where you are. No conversion, no quote, no pressure.
Being clear about what is included
The $99 annual plan is hosting. For a website that is already static and ready to host, standard onboarding is part of that price.
Converting an existing WordPress site is different work, and how much of it there is depends entirely on the site. We do not fold an unknown amount of conversion work into a fixed annual hosting fee — that is how hosting companies end up quietly cutting corners. The assessment is free, and any conversion work is quoted on its own.
We cannot convert every WordPress site, and we do not claim that every WordPress feature has a static equivalent. Some features can be reproduced, some can be handled by connecting a specialist service, and some cannot be carried over at all. The assessment exists to tell you which of those applies to your site, in writing, before you spend anything.
