Frequently asked questions

Can I still change my website after moving to PageSpeedHost?

Yes. Hosting with us does not freeze your website. If you or your developer manage your own static site, you keep publishing updates exactly as you do now — nothing about the way you work changes.

If you are not technical and want someone to make changes for you, that is website maintenance rather than hosting, and it is not part of the $99 annual plan. Ask us and we will tell you how we can help. We may introduce a separate managed-content service in future; it is not available yet, so we are not going to pretend otherwise.

What happens to my contact form?

A form needs somewhere to send submissions, and static sites have no built-in mechanism for that. It is a solved problem, but it is a genuine step rather than something that transfers automatically.

During the migration assessment we identify every form and interactive feature on your current site and tell you what will need to change, if anything, before migration goes ahead.

Will my email stop working?

It should not, and avoiding that is a specific part of how we onboard. Website hosting, domain registration, and email hosting are three separate services. Your email stays with whoever provides it now — Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, your registrar, or another provider.

Email records live in your domain’s DNS, which is also where a website change happens, so we ask about email during onboarding and identify existing mail-related records before making changes. Email hosting is not included in a PageSpeedHost plan.

Is this WordPress hosting?

No. PageSpeedHost provides managed static website hosting. We do not currently offer conventional WordPress, PHP, or database hosting.

An existing WordPress site can become a customer if it is converted to a static website first, which is what the free migration assessment is for.

Do I have to transfer my domain to you?

No. Your domain stays registered in your name at your current registrar. Buying hosting does not require transferring domain ownership, and we do not offer domain registration as a service.

What happens if I want to leave?

You take your website with you. We provide your site files and cooperate with a reasonable handoff so another host or developer can pick things up. Your domain is already yours, so there is nothing to reclaim.

If a departure needs work beyond a standard handoff, we will tell you what that costs in advance. The details are in our Terms of Service.

Do you guarantee uptime?

We do not publish an uptime guarantee. PageSpeedHost delivers hosting using established third-party cloud infrastructure, and we are not going to advertise a guarantee we would be passing along rather than providing.

What we will say plainly: static sites have fewer moving parts than a conventional server-based site, which means fewer things that can fail. That is a real advantage, but it is not the same as a promise that nothing ever goes wrong.

Who actually runs the servers?

PageSpeedHost does not own data centers. We use established third-party cloud and edge infrastructure to deliver the service, and we manage the hosting, the account, the billing, and the support relationship with you.

If you want to know which providers sit underneath, ask and we will tell you.

How quickly will you reply?

Support requests are typically answered within 24 hours. That is our normal turnaround rather than a guaranteed response time, and we would rather describe it accurately than promise something we cannot always hold to.

PageSpeedHost does not currently operate a 24/7 staffed support desk. Support is provided by email by a small team. If round-the-clock cover is a requirement for your business, a larger host is a better fit and we would rather say so now.

Do you keep backups of my website?

Yes. Whenever we publish a new version of your website, we create a verified recovery copy of exactly what went live — and we check that the copy is complete and readable before treating the publish as finished.

We retain previous recovery versions for at least 90 days, and we always keep a recoverable copy of your current website even if it has not changed during that period. So a site that has sat untouched for a year still has a recovery copy.

Recovery is version-based rather than a nightly job. A copy is made when something is published, which means every recovery point matches a real version of your site rather than whatever happened to exist at 3am.

If you need to go back to a previous version, email us and we will restore an available one for you. Restores are handled by us as part of your hosting rather than from a control panel, so tell us roughly when the site was last correct and we will find the right version with you.

Two honest limits. Recovery covers your hosted website, not your domain registration, your email, or anything hosted elsewhere. And while a recovery copy is kept separately from the live site, it is not a substitute for keeping your own copy of anything you would be unable to recreate.

Can I cancel?

Yes. You can cancel automatic renewal at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not take your website offline. Your site stays hosted through the end of the period you have already paid for.

What if I change my mind after buying?

Your first hosting purchase has a 30-day money-back period, which applies to the hosting charge.

Separately quoted work — a WordPress-to-static conversion, migration, or other development — is quoted and billed on its own, and is not automatically covered by the hosting money-back period. If any of that applies to you, we will set out how it is handled in the quote before work begins.

My subscription renewed and I did not want it to. What now?

Tell us within 7 days of the renewal charge and you can ask us to cancel and refund that renewal.

What happens if a renewal payment fails?

Your website does not go offline that day. There is a 30-day grace period from the renewal due date. During it your site stays hosted, and we will make reasonable attempts to contact you so you can resolve the payment or arrange a transition elsewhere.

If the account is still unpaid after the grace period, we may suspend the website. Should that happen, we retain your site files for a further 60 days, after which they become eligible for permanent deletion. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before anything is permanently deleted.

Recovery copies follow the same timeline as the site files: once a suspended website reaches the end of that retention period, its recovery copies become eligible for permanent deletion too.

How much does it cost?

$99 per year for managed static hosting of one website, billed annually. That is the standard price rather than a first-year rate that jumps later. See exactly what is included.

Ready to move your website?

Managed static hosting is $99 per year, billed annually. If you are not sure whether your current website is a fit, ask us for a free static migration assessment first.
